چکیده

Selected by in vitro techniques (SELEX, cell-SELEX), aptamers are strands of DNA or RNA 13 molecules able to bind a wide range of targets, from small molecules to live cells, and even tissues, 14 with high affinity and specificity. Due to their efficient targeting ability, aptamers are extensively 15 used in different fields of applications. For example, they ensure high performance as cancer-related 16 markers or in recognizing cancer cells. Actually, they represent a promising way for early diagnosis 17 (biosensors) and to deliver imaging agents and drugs, in both cancer imaging and therapy 18 (therapeutic aptamers). Aptamer-based biosensors (aptasensors) have attracted particular attention 19 over the last decades, so as the possibility of using aptamers in disease therapy in substitution of 20 monoclonal antibodies. The paper briefly reviews the most recent literature on this topic, both 21 concerning the advances in biomedical applications and in the development of electrical 22 aptasensors. The investigation concerning the bioelectronics features of aptamers, to be 23 implemented in the development of electrical nanobiosensors, is also reviewed. To this aim, some 24 recent results of a theoretical/computational framework for modelling the electrical properties of 25 biomolecules (Proteotronics) are reported. 26

Protein Detection with Potentiometric Aptasensors: A Comparative Study between Polyaniline and Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Transducers

A comparison study on the performance characteristics and surface characterization of two different solid-contact selective potentiometric thrombin aptasensors, one exploiting a network of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and the other the polyaniline (PANI), both acting as a transducing element, is described in this work. The molecular properties of both SWCNT and PANI surfaces have bee...

Nanoscaled aptasensors for multi-analyte sensing

INTRODUCTION Nanoscaled aptamers (Aps), as short single-stranded DNA or RNA oligonucleotides, are able to bind to their specific targets with high affinity, upon which they are considered as powerful diagnostic and analytical sensing tools (the so-called "aptasensors"). Aptamers are selected from a random pool of oligonucleotides through a procedure known as "systematic evolution of ligands by ...

3D Modelling of Under Ground Burried Objects Based on Ground Penetration Radar

There is a growing demand for mapping and 3D modelling of buried objects such as pipelines, agricultural hetitage, landmines and other buried objects. Usually, large scale and high resolution maps from these objects are needed. Manually map generation and modeling of these objects are cost and time consuming and is dependent on lots of resources. Therefore, automating the subsurface mapping and...

Applications of Aptasensors in Clinical Diagnostics

Aptamers are artificial oligonucleotides (DNA or RNA) selected in vitro that bind a broad range of targets with high affinity and specificity; a sensitive yet simple method to utilize aptamers as recognition elements for the development of biosensors (aptasensors) is to transduce the signal electrochemically. So far, aptasensors have been applied to clinical diagnostics and several technologies...
